2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD - more powerful and capable
|   Thursday, September 19, 2013
The 2014 Silverado seems to gather all the characteristics any driver would want for a heavy pickup. The vehicle designed by Chevrolet is more powerful, safe and it offers more comfort, also, it seems that it has been made to last.

Newly improved with a pair of projector beam headlights and further cabin tech features, the Silverado available in 2500 HD and 3500 HD is going to be equipped with a standard ratio of final drive which increases the tow ratings up to 4,500 pounds.
Also, a bi-fuel system which offers the gasoline or natural gas options is available.

The two available versions of Chevrolet will cost either $30,000 or $50,000 and will compete with the F-Series Super Duty from Ford and Ram Heavy Duty. Both of the upcoming vehicles have been designed using a special durable technology which was only a dream a couple of years ago.

Although it might seem to look a bit basic, the Silverado HD includes a wide series of newly designed exterior elements. It seems that the designers wanted to keep the design really simply and only change and improve specific design details. So, the panel surfaces and overall styling are classic and have lean overall line.

The SUV versions of the Silverado will include bumper area details and lower fascia with body color treatments. This actually creates the impression of a very bold and daring vehicle, making it super visible on a highway drive for instance.

In the front part, the cross hatch grille matched with a higher ride height actually differentiate this particular model from the previously released models.
The interior size has been significantly increased and it combines the latest technology features with a comfortable and welcoming design. If making a brief summary, the overall interior features seem to be exactly what a $50,000 vehicle could actually offer.

10 more body styles are being offered by the HD version and they are also equipped with three engines and further special options. The overall design of the HD is kept simple and lean, the top of the laded includes a LTZ spec and this creates the impression of an updated package.

All of the technological options of the 2011 Silverado HD have been included on the upcoming model but they have all received upgrades, fresh infotainment, fleet telematics and a very useful WiFi which is an almost mandatory options required by most of the nowadays drivers.

Totally improved in terms of fuel consumption, the upcoming vehicle has been designed in such a way as to reduce the appetite for fuel and increase the final drive ration making it definitely quicker. Also, the drivetrain has been increased for both the gasoline and diesel engines.

More importantly, interested drivers should also know that there is also a bi fuel gasoline or natural gas layout available for the 6.2 liter V8. This makes the vehicle capable of producing 59 horsepower and 47 pound feet of torque while it makes use of the CNG.
