2013 Porsche Panamera S is a Treat to Drive
|   Tuesday, July 09, 2013
Porsche has launched the latest version of the Panamera, the 2013 Panamera S. Porsche has introduced a 3.0 liter Bi turbo engine is place of the 4.8 liter V8 powering the Panamera S. Porsche planned on the latest upgrade as the old engine was also used on the GTS. The company decided that the engine was insufficient of powering any vehicle below the GTS segment.

The new Bi turbo engine is a modified 3.6 liter six cylinder which was already powering its predecessor.
Do not let that notion fool you however as this engine is an all new monster, developing more power than you can possibly imagine. The turbo charger pumps up enough air into the engine to breathe new life into the car. Peak torque of 383 ft lb of torque is now displaced by the engine and this gives the Panamera S a Gran Turismo kind of feel.

The Panamera S is a rear wheel driven car and Porsche has added a seven speed transmission system as standard. The engine is very responsive and torque is provided at all gears. Driving the Panamera S is a pleasure both within the city as well as freeways. The V8 engine powering the Panamera S has been designed well and it provides sufficient torque and power throughout the ride.

Driving a Porsche within city traffic has never been so easy and specific Drive mode is available which enhances the way this car handles and drives. The six and eight cylindered engines vary greatly and this is evident in the way the car handles. The suspension has been recalibrated by Porsche and as a result this vehicle is more comfortable and handles better than its predecessor.

The 2013 Panamera S weighs 1810 kg and is a four seated version. This is the first four seated Porsche from its stables and is quite rigid, stable and great for long distance drives. The Bi turbo engine is a huge plus point on the Panamera S primarily for the fact that the comfort and drive train are sufficient to power this passenger sports car.

Priced at £82,079, the 2013 Panamera S sports a top speed of 178 MPH while returning fuel efficiency close to 32.4 MPG. The Panamera S is designed to take on the latest competition that the market may present to it and the latest entrant in this segment is expected to be the Audi RS7. The Panamera S accelerates from 0 – 60 MPH almost a second quicker than the BMW M5 and is also cheaper than the M5.

If you are under the impression that the Panamera S is a basic passenger vehicle without performance aspects, you need to get the facts straightened out. Porsche is renowned for its performance aspects and the Panamera S proves that it shares the genes. Porsche has launched the 2013 Panamera S a few weeks back and the vehicle is already capturing hearts around the globe. The company hopes this variant will outsell its predecessor by a hefty margin.
