Toyota has plans to launch the Auris at the Paris Motor Show 2012 and the company promises that he car will be better than its predecessor in more ways than one. Powered by an advanced engine and featuring enhanced technological upgrades, the car provides an overall better prospect and sports better looks.

The Auris directly competes with the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf and is soon to be available in the UK. The Auris is set to go back to production at Toyota's Derbyshire plant and the new model is lighter by up to 40 kg.

Toyota recently updated pictures of the Auris which were published by Auto Car magazine and the new car is longer, wider and sports stiffer suspension than its predecessor. The Auris will be available with a host of drive train features and will be available as a hybrid, diesel and petrol version.
The base model of the vehicle is set to be powered by a 1.3 liter petrol engine. However, a 1.6 liter engine option is also available at the dealerships. The sole diesel variant is set to be powered by a 1.4 liter engine.

After the launch of the vehicle there is an available upgrade to the BMW diesel engine on the cards, as both the companies are looking forward to a merger and Toyota is definitely looking at better engine enhancements for its vehicles.

The Auris hybrid is set to be powered by a 1.8 liter petrol engine and nickel metallic hydride battery that is currently used in other models of Toyota. However, unlike the current model, the Auris has been designed for more space and comfort which is lacking in the present model.

The Auris is 4275 mm long, 1460 mm high and 1760 mm wide and the new car is longer by 30 mm and is 55 mm lower than its predecessor. This model features the lowest ride height in the class and has a boot capacity of 360 liters.

The structural frame of the Auris has been done with structural steel and the more tensile steel allows for greater stability and strength than low tensile steel. This increases ride comfort and overall safety. The car features increased torsion stiffness by over 10 percent and the stiffness of the suspension and steering capabilities have been increased.

The transmission system has been reworked and this gives better throttle response at all gears, hence making driving an enjoyable experience. The car possesses greater torque at low RPM and this means increased acceleration and more speed.

Comfort and cornering ability has been increased thanks to the new suspension system and the car provides a better responsive and enjoyable driving experience. The new car features a sleeker front end and the more aggressively styled vehicle looks better than its predecessor.

The bolder front grille, daytime running LED lights, sleeker headlights, wide opening tailgate, pronounced bumpers and wraparound tail lights make for an overall package. People are looking forward to the launch of the Auris and inquiries are pouring in regarding pre bookings.
