Peugeot is set to showcase the 2012 208 GTI at the Paris International Motor Show 2012 which is scheduled to take place from 14th September to the 14th of October. The car is set to be launched in the United Kingdom in the spring of 2013 and Peugeot are already flooded with inquiries.

As of now only the pictures of the car are available and as far as the preliminary reports are concerned, the car features subtle design features and aggressive aerodynamics which together make for a killing combo.

The car is available in a host of body kits and the body kit showcased brings out the evil side of the car's looks. Peugeot is all set to bring back the era of the aggressively styled 205 GTI with the new 208 GTI and the car is set to hit production stages post the Paris Auto Show 2012.

The ride height of the new Peugeot 208 GTI has been lowered and the car features a longer wheelbase with wider interiors for more passenger comfort and space. The car is powered by a decent 1.6 liter turbo engine which runs on petrol and the car reaches the 60 mph mark in a decent 7 seconds.

The 1.6 liter THP engine featured in the 208 GTI is quite a popular one and is currently used in more popular models of Citroen and Peugeot. The DS3 and RCZ are also quite popular and the engines produce a healthy 197 BHP and 203 lb ft.

The RCZ GT engine is mated to a short ratio six speed gear box which means increased torque at lower ears which aids acceleration and as a result more speed. Peugeot has not launched any official data regarding the top speed of the vehicle but experts analyze it to be close to the 140 mph mark.

The car accelerates from 50 – 75 mph in around 7 seconds and in the fifth gear and Co2 emission level is estimated to be something close to 145 g/km. The exhaust system of the 208 GTI has been reworked and Peugeot promises that the car will have a satisfying deep exhaust note.

The tracks on the chassis are up to 10 mm longer and 20 mm wider at the end the McPherson torsion beam strut up rear suspension has been reworked to give an overall better ride quality. The 208 GTI is for the sports enthusiasts and the car features recalibrated dampers, sports wings, roll cage and features cross member rigidity for advanced support.

The car also features diamond carbon alloyed wheels and 204/45 tires. The car features 302 mm front disk brakes and 249 mm rear disk calipers. The brakes are capable of dynamic air intake and hence remain cool at all times.

The car is described by initial users as a great piece of machinery and the initial response to the 208 GTI has been great so far. New LED daytime running lights are an addition to this car and this is another superb features introduced in the 2013 model
