|   Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Hyundai has plans to launch the all new two door hatch back, the i30 at the Paris International Moto Show 2012. The Hyundai i30 is the direct descendent of Kia Motors and although the car has few common things to share with the Pro Cee'd, the external similarities are visible.

The car features longer doors with Hyundai's new fluidic design and the side windows have been swept up to maintain an overall hexagonal design and the sportier stance that the car keeps at any instance appeals to the eyes.

The interior space is the same as that of the five-door variant and the car sports new features like the all new LED DRL and attached fog lamps that enhance visibility even in the most adverse situations. The front bumper has a mesh grille and this theme is present even in the interior.

The car has new 16 inch alloyed sports rims with implanted fog lamps at the rear of the vehicle and the car has an all new exterior design which gives it an aggressive edge. The steering system of the three-door i30 can be adjusted with the help of the Flex Steer system which is present in the five door version of the car as well.

The i30 is currently Hyundai's cleanest vehicle as the 1.6 liter CRDI engine emits just 98 g/km of Co2 while producing 128 PS. The new car has five engine variants mated to a singular six speed automatic and manual transmission system.

The advanced transmission of the car transfers power to all four wheels of this AWD vehicle and the smooth gear ratios make low gear movements an easy task. By far the i30 has also been rated as one of the best models in European NCAP safety standards.

The car has scored 90% in child occupancy, 86% Safety Assist, 67% pedestrian safety, 90% adult occupancy with a 5 star Crash Testing Safety Standard. The three petrol variants of the engine produce power in the range of 90 PS – 135 PS and the 1.6 liter diesel engine is the most powerful in the lot, producing 128 PS.

The car accelerates from 0 – 60 mph in under 11 seconds with an estimated top speed of 150 mph. The 1.6 liter GDI – gasoline powered – engine produces 135 PS and torque figures of 164 NM. The Blues Drive version of the car is the most economic of the lot and enjoys the maximum tax benefits due to its low emission and high fuel efficiency.

The interior has been remodeled as well and now comes in three different shades depending upon the customer's preference. The electronics have also been improved and the car features SAT NAV, GPS, 7 inch touch screen, parking assist, brake assistance, etc.

The i30, like all other Hyundai vehicles come with a five year warranty covering most parts. The vehicle has three pleasurable drive modes which redefines the boundaries of pushing a car to its limits. The car is willing to be pushed and this is the best part about driving a Hyundai.
