2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport - a new great look
|   Thursday, August 30, 2012
The third generation of Hyundai's Santa Fe is finally here. The most prestigious crossover of the Hyundai family has made it's appearance and by the looks of it, Hyundai has made some special investment in redesigning the look of the car. The Hyundai Santa Fe started off as goofy and misshaped car when it first arrived but today we see a much more sleek and attractive model designed to make you druel.

The car now has new game, new engine and all new added specifications and gadgets for the driver's pleasure.
It's not shocking really since all of the vehicles of the Korean car maker has been performing tremendously well. The car has gotten a new name, or at least that's what you could technically say if you call adding "Sport" a name change. Still the name change also came with lots of change in design, such as the new car is half a inch longer, little thinner and a bit lower. Up till last year the Santa Fe came with a V6 3.5 liter engine as a top of a line product. This year the sport version of the vehicle gets a 2 liter turbocharged engine that's going to power the car with 264 horsepower.

The engine performance is also remarkable. When the car was first driven by motor trend Magazine, The 2.0 turbocharged Santa fe Sport moved from 0-60mph in just 9.1 seconds. IN a middle class crossover that's impressive. Still is a mere speed test enough to judge the performance of the car? No it is not that's why the car was tested at a straight and twisty track to properly understand just how well the handling of the car is. The car completed the quarter mile track in less than 17 seconds at an average speed of 83mph. while racing through the tracks, drivers responded saying the car had an excellent pick and acceleration throughout the track except that there were some flat line positions such as when the car is shifting gears. It seemed that the vehicle was not properly tuned according to the engine's power. Similarly the car would not properly accelerate when coming out of a turn in a twisty track.

The engine, though very powerful and strong could do wonders for a real driving enthusiast with just a little tweaking to the transmission. Tuning is not uncommon for new cars, in fact tuning high end luxury models is more of a trend these days.

The interior design and features of the car are also quiet impressive. The cabin feels more roomy and comfy than more, thanks to the added half inch of leg space. The fully loaded model comes with front heated seats along with heated steering wheels. It is still not confirmed if the luxury model will come with Hyundai's BlueLink, but drivers are anxiously hoping that it does. If the Hyundai Sonata Drivers can get it then The Hyundai Santa Fe Drivers really deserves a shot.
