Toyota brings up two new models especially for the UK market, the Toyota Yaris Trend and the Yaris Edition. The cars are set to launch within the next few months and offers new designing features borrowed from Lexus.
The cars feature an extended C pillar that offer structural support to the cars as well as lend an aggressive look to the vehicles. The cars have darkened glasses for privacy and the body color is done with Cirrus White or Tyrol Silver paintwork, which builds up a floating roof feeling in the vehicles.
The Toyota Yaris Edition works of the basic Toyota T2 and installs a series of sports features to the vehicle like a 15 inch smoke finish anthracite, special fitting alloy wheels, a rear privacy tinted glass, chrome rims, a leather finish steering wheel and gear knob and a solid built tachometer.
The Toyota Edition is powered by a powerful 1.0 L WTI petrol engine with a 5 speed manual transmission with the option of an automatic. The car is available in a three door and a five door variant and the base models start from 11,605 Pounds.
The Toyota Yaris Trend is a themed sports vehicle which has the Yaris SR as the starting point and the car features 18 inch Podium alloy finished in chrome and a tailpipe trim exhaust system. The car features added electronics like the Toyota Touch interface with a GO multimedia functionality that can be custom tuned to suit the driver’s needs.
The Trend is powered by a 1.33 L WTI petrol engine and the car has the option of being delivered in either a six speed or a five speed manual and automatic transmission respectively. The automated version features Toyota’s multi drive CVT automatic technology and the on road prices of the Trend start from 13,795 Pounds.
The cars have been fitted with some of the most advanced technologies available such as an advanced ABS with brake assistance and EBD, an advanced stability control system, Escaro fabric upholstery, vehicle stability control, electric front seats, USB, Bluetooth and WI-FI connectivity and seven airbags for the driver and passenger both at the front and rear.
The Toyota Edition, in addition to all these features come with front fog lamps, rear privacy glass, advanced and user friendly tachometer, body color handles and side mirrors, C pillars, a manual air conditioning option and 15 inch alloyed rims.
Standard features like the chrome tailpipes, leather finish upholstery, lowered suspension and front lighting with LED daytime running lights is present in all Yaris models. Apart from these, the cars feature retuned suspension which allows the car to efficiently tackle corners and the Yaris is a good track vehicle.
On testing it has been found that the Yaris has incredible acceleration, with decent handling the Edition and the trend have been re tuned to optimize performance. The cars are set to be up for sale next summer and heavy sales are expected. Toyota fans have already gone gaga over the vehicles and Toyota is hopeful of a hugely popular start.
