The Geneva Motor Show in March will host the debut of the new generation BMW 5 Series Touring. The new driving assistance systems provide automated steering control up to the speed of 210 km / h.
Remote 3DView allows a view on the smartphone, in real time, of images around the car, while the parking assistance system is completed by a parking space handling function. On-Street Parking Service Information shows the driver where to find free parking, and the Service Park Now allows online booking and payment for a parking space.
A palette of 11 metallic colors and two non-metallic colors will be available at launch, with other eight shades set to join the offer BMW Individual, each of which can be combined with 17 models of alloy wheels from 17 to 20 inches. Two customization packs are available for the customers: Sport Line and Luxury Line. Very demanding customers can opt for the M Sport package, available from launch.

The diesel versions benefit from direct injection at a pressure up to 2500 bar and a turbine with variable geometry. All engines comply with Euro6 rules.
On the release date two gasoline engines (530i with 525 hp and 540i xDrive with 340 hp) and two diesels (520d with 190 hp and the 530d with 265 hp), with 4 and 6 cylinders, will be available.
Later, they will be joined by other variants: 530E iPerformance, 520d EfficientDynamics Edition, and M550 xDrive. With the exception of the 520d, which is coupled in the basic version to a 6-speed manual gearbox, all other models come standard combined with a Steptronic transmission with eight gears.
In the menu we also find directional rear axle, now available in conjunction with xDrive transmission (like the 7 Series) for top maneuverability at low speeds and stability when cornering.
