Mercedes celebrates 50 years since the establishment of its AMG division with the launch of three special models: Mercedes GT C Roadster Edition 50, Mercedes-AMG C63 Convertible Ocean Blue Edition, and Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic Coupe Night Edition.
This year is a special year for the Mercedes-AMG performance division. The Affalterbach engineers celebrate 50 years of existence. Meanwhile, they continue to built fast cars based on production models and more.
By revealing the new Mercedes-AMG GT facelift, the German automaker launched the Jubilee Edition 50 model which celebrates 50 years of AMG.
Just like the coupe version, the new Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50 will be limited to just 500 copies worldwide and will differ with its grey bodywork colors, Designo Graphite Gray Magno, or white, Designo Cashmere White Magno, but also with the bodywork elements and forged rims, painted in chrome black.
Inside the contrast between black and gray dominates, the same combination being applied to upholstery leather, STYLE Exclusive Nappa, and the steering wheel, AMG Performance, which is lined in Dinamica microfiber, and has the inscription “AMG Edition” at the bottom.
The AMG Interior Night package improves the interior with elements painted in glossy black. On the headrests the inscription “GT Edition 50” is present, which repeats the logo placed on the trunk lid.
The performance of the new Mercedes AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50 is identical to the conventional version. Due to the V8 engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters (557 hp and torque of 680 Nm), the limited roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 316 km / h.
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 Cabriolet (476 horsepower and torque of 650 Nm) and Mercedes-AMG C63 S Convertible (510 horsepower and torque of 700 Nm) models are available in the Ocean Blue Edition, limited to only 150 copies globally.
The new limited edition is characterized by the “Ocean Blue” color for the retractable roof, the same hue being found on the front spoiler, rear diffuser and the middle forged 19-inch wheels on the front and 20 inches at the rear axle, painted in Titanium Gray color.
The bodywork is painted either in white Designo Cashmere White Magno, or in gray Designo Selenite Gray Magno, while the interior is spiced by the contrasting Ocean Blue stitching , applied to the gray leather, Crystal Gray, and the inserts made of gray fiberglass (carbon fiber inserts optional).
The Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC Coupe and Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC Convertible models are offered in the new version, Night Edition.
This version adds a glossy black color to the exterior elements including the exhaust ports, as well as matte black to the 19-inch rims, which contrasts with the polished ring.
Inside, the “Performance” steering wheel appears lined in Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber, while on the center console the logo with the inscription “Night Edition” is placed .
Under the hood of the Mercedes-AMG C 43 models hides a twin-turbo V6 engine with a displacement of 3.0 liters, rated at 367 hp and torque of 520 Nm.
The new edition could be ordered from March, while the first deliveries are scheduled for the months of June-July 2017.
