U.S safety regulators have opened a case over the issue of fire from Toyota’s Camry and RAV4s. They have taken this action over some complaints by its consumers that the door of their cars gets in fire. These problems come from the cars that are manufactured in 2007. According to the consumers, the driver side door gets in fire in
Toyota Camry’s Sedan and RAV4s crossover SUVs.
According to an estimation by U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 830,000 cars can be affected by this door fire issue. They are getting more and more complaints on this particular concerned issue on Toyota’s Camry and RAV4s models.
Recently six consumers have complained over this issue of getting fire on their Toyota’s car according to U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which led to open the investigation after it this week.
According to the filed complain over it, the fire is originated from the driver’s side door. Particularly from the power window switch placed on the door. It seems to be a serious manufacturing problem by Toyota that might have used any particular technology for their 2007’s Camry’s and RAV4s models from which complains are registered to U.S NHTSA.
“We are waiting for more information to come from U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration before responding it to the Government”, Toyota company said.
“We have just received Preliminary Evaluation Opening Resume by NHTSA over 2007 manufactured Camry and RAV4s on 7th February this year though not received any information request by them”. Toyota further said. “The company will surely cooperate over this issue with the concerned agencies to overcome this problem and try to know the real situation that led to this fire issue”. Toyota’s statement over an email reply.
Not only it’s an issue in Toyota’s models, Nissan is having some troubles too. Nissan’s consumers are complaining over the transmission problems in 2011’s model. According to complain filed, consumers are not able to shift the transmission from parking gear to normal without pressing the brakes pedal. These are also filed in U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Although no accident or injuries are reported till yet on this transmission issue, but still it can lead to. For the concerned issue, Nissan has to recall their 37,000 small cars with manual transmission.
U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says those 36,608 cars that are manufactured in 2012 and having the automatic transmission can have this problem in transmission box. Their might be some sort of lagging between the shifter rod and shift knob. And off course in can lead to some great accident of injury.
The car manufacturer discovered the problem during the dealing inspection, upon which they changed the shifter rod and shift knob assembly. The recall by Nissan is expected in 20th February, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
Investigation case over this issue is expected to be opened soon and Nissan also added that they will also definitely provide the cooperation with NHTSA upon the request.
