There is not a soul alive that hasn’t heard about the nest premium band in the world, BMW, except for newborns, maybe. Even if the majority of us will never have the chance to own a BMW car, we will always be attracted by the elegant designs and the powerful, yet ecological, engines produced by the German auto maker.
The company shows no sign of compromising in any of the aspects that make BMW what it is. In fact, it is ever improving them, bringing them to new standards and causing the competition to clench its fists helplessly. Keeping in line with that principle, the 2012 Geneva Auto Show will highlight some extremely appealing cars, concepts and their technology from BMW.
For starters, we have the BMW EfficientDynamics and BMW ConnectedDrive, two techs that find a comfortable home in the BMW i3 Concept and BMW i8 Concept. Look forward to seeing them soon at Geneva. These beauties represent a perfect balance between passion for road and speed and remarkable efficiency.
Another point of interest is the unveiling of the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. This is the first ever, 4 door coupe in the company’s history, and is bound to attract a lot of attention. Its sporty look suggests a fascinating driving experience defined by the powerful engine, top-of-the-line chassis and many innovative driver assisting systems.
The M6 Coupe will also have a place reserved at Geneva. This beauty will reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.2 seconds, and have a 30 percent higher fuel efficiency level than the previous generation. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
And there is more from the emblematic M label. Many more M Performance cars will debut at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, like the BMW M550d xDrive, BMW M550d xDrive Touring,
BMW X5 M50d and
BMW X6 M50d. These models are laying the foundations of a whole new range of products, which combines exclusive engines with very high performances and efficiency to satisfy even the most severe customer.
Next, BMW will offer its visitors an extremely detailed presentation of the new 3 Series sedan. This new model will see a number of optional engines, as well as the BMW ActiveHybrid 3 version. Fans of the world’s best selling premium model will no doubt be extremely happy when the next generation arrives in dealerships.
The 1 Series could not be left out of the equation, thus it will witness new engines. The BMW 116d EfficientDynamics Edition will be featured, enabling BMW to create cars that for the first time in its history will go under 100 g/km. World premieres continue with the
BMW X6, which, this time, is equipped with some new gears besides witnessing a few design tweaks.
Overall, the 2012 Geneva Auto Show will be jam packed with many, many goodies from BMW, but from other car builders too. This March, you will have to keep a close eye on the news, if you wish to be up to date with the latest and greatest the automobile giants have prepared.
