The manufacturer from Maranello prepared a surprise for the Geneva Motor Show, which will be called Ferrari 812 Superfast. The new model will be launched in early March, when the first major car event held on the Old Continent in 2017 will open its doors.
As we all know, the specialists from Maranello manage to impress us with every release they are planning. The model, Ferrari 812 Superfast, will be the latest model developed by the Italian manufacturer which will be equipped with an aspirated V12 engine. Also, the above mentioned model will borrow some elements from the F12tdf circuit version. Besides the fact that will be the last model with such an engine, the 812 Superfast is the most powerful production model developed by the folks at Maranello.
To mark the 70th anniversary of Ferrari's founding, the 812 Superfast model stars in a particular shade of red called Rosso Settanta. It is equally a passionate and seductive color, just like the sensual and sporting shapes of the bodywork. But Ferrari 812 Superfast is not only one of the most beautiful sports car with front engine, but also a model that sets new standards of performance.
The new V12 engine with a displacement of 6.5 liter, develops 800 hp at 8,500 rpm, which translates into a ratio of 123 hp per liter. The maximum torque is 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm, of which 80 percent is already delivered at 3,500 rpm.
The engine performances are backed by gasoline direct injection pressure at 350 bar and variable geometry inlet whose concept was derived from the same solution used in aspirated engines for Formula 1.
With such specifications, the Ferrari 812 fully deserves its nickname, Superfast. Moreover, no series car with its engine on the front axle has ever had that much power ever. The ultra-fast gearbox with dual-clutch helps exploiting those resources and the result is a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 340 km / h.
Ferrari 812 Superfast even manages to surpass the LaFerrari in certain aspects. The hypercar has a V12 engine with a displacement of 6.3 l, which develops 800 hp at 9,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque 6,750 rpm.
LaFerrari exceeds the 812 Superfast, because its V12 is also supported by an electric motor that raises total power to 963 hp and torque to over 900 Nm. As a result, LaFerrari is credited with going 0 to 100 km / h below 3 seconds. And top speed is over 350 km / h.
The 812 Superfast model is the first Ferrari fitted with electric assisted steering system. This assistance system works together with the rest of dynamics control systems, an example being the newest version of Side Slip Control (SSC). Also, the Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system is even more effective in making the car's response conform more to the driver's requirements. Ferrari has gained experience in this regard through the F12tdf model.
With these emotional and technical arguments, the Ferrari 812 Superfast models picks up the baton from the F12berlinetta and F12tdf in order to become a benchmark among GT's.
