Chicago tribune addressed the annual car show held in Chicago where they interviewed different models that were standing with their car in such theme making dresses in contrast or in matching with their car model. They were dressed up with some exclusive designed colored dresses and with high heel shoes. This idea brings a new trend in the car show exhibition.
Tribune interviewed many different models who were providing a complete specification about their car. They visited with Jenna Strauss, who was the promotional model for the famous car manufacturer Cadillac. She was wearing 4 inch long heel.
Beside this, London and Ontario model's job was much more than just standing by their car in tight black dresses. They were highly trained to speak about their car models are providing the specification and knew how to become a smart representative as it was like a competition there.
Jenna Strauss says, we are more than just a pretty face standing here at McCormick Place in Chicago. She was serving there as a speaker who were providing information about their specific car. Further she says “you can come up to me and ask what 0 to 60 horsepower of this car and definitely I will provide you the answer. She had been working with a Cadillac car manufacturer with about three years.
It has been observed that the evolution in car show models, which is going on from the 1930’s in Chicago, the use of tiered surrounded arena has been ended internationally or specially in the southern side.
According to the Chicago car show’s historian M.J Frumkin, in 1980’s some talented agencies are hired by the car manufacturers who introduced the idea about the car show models a professional to provide the information about the car.
Those who attend these car shows are not very much known to the information about the car and also they don’t want to listen and technical information about the car. They want some attractive knowledge because the all attendees are not familiar with the technical terms that were previously provided by the engineers there. In 2011 Chicago’s car show, 74% of the total attendees were males. So the idea of introducing beautiful models along with the car is a very smart move to attract the attendees.
Caitlyn McCabe, who was a car model there said she can earn some smart money of around $45,000 a year for being a promotional model and while studying in a communication course at DePauls institute. Different promotional models also added that due to this car show extravaganza they are able to earn $200 to $500 a day and that is said to be a smart income. Further she says "It is a pretty good way to make a living, especially if you are an actor, a model or in communications and It is my only source of income."
This new innovating idea is proven to be fruitful and through it the car exhibition goes successful, hiring beautiful promotional models is a good way to attract the customers.
